What I've Been Up To

Hey everyone I thought I'd give you all a lil update on what's been going on with me before I sit down and spend the evening drawing. It's been busy here but good.

I was able to do something that as far as I know I am the first and only person to do so. I knit on a roller coaster!

I also took a stab at dying my own yarn. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

I call the colorway Golden Birthday. I knit a hat to wear on my birthday this year which happened to be my Golden Birthday. So clever I know lol. I finished on the train going to the bar. I finished knitting and weaving in the ends and put it on and walked of the train. Here's a pic from the night with my friend Alyssa .

Work has been going really well. We just had our Fall Yarn Tasting at Windy Knitty. We also had a color theory class given by the very talented Amy Hendrix, dyer behind the beautiful color ways of Madelinetosh. Here is a picture of us with her holding my sock-in-progress.
We also had the very talented Stephen West of Westknits stop by the shop and knit for awhile. He was also kind enough to hold my sock. Which was awesome because the first time we met I didn't get the chance to get a pic.
So things have been good here. I will try to be better about updating with more strips or at least blog posts in between. Till next time. Happy Knitting!

Hold My Sock Game!

Ok so while I'm working on the next issue I thought I'd do a little post about something I love to do. . . The Yarn Harlot's Hold My Sock Game. The jist of it is that if you meet a celebrity you get a picture with them holding your sock in progress it has to be on the needle. So for my mom's birthday last year I knit her socks and was able to get a few celebrities to hold the socks.

First up was Jane Lynch!

Then I was lucky enought to meet the Yarn Harlot!

Then I got an email from Crystal Bowersox and she came to my Stitch n' Bitch group.

So my mom was really excited to receive her socks and to be there as they were being held.

So this weekend I was able to get a pair of socks I'm making for myself held by a pretty famous guy in the knitting world Franklin Habit!

That's all for now the next issue should be up soon I'm sure you will all like it alot!
