Simply Knitting Arrived!

I'm super excited that I got my subscription copy of Simply Knitting. It's so cool to see myself in print. I'm so thankful for the opportunity, and for the people who are now enjoying  Skein n' Bones because of it. Simply Knitting was also kind enough to do a blog post as well, so if you get a chance check it out.

Character Inspiration #2

Hey everyone I thought I'd do another character inspiration post today. Today's focus....

The Skein Monsters
The Skein Monsters came about as I was getting ready to help out at Windy Knitty for the Chicago Yarn Crawl last year. I was gonna make some fun signs for the window but was kinda stumped by what to do then it hit me do pictures of yarn crawling. Hence the Skein Monsters were born. This is where Skein n' Bones really started to come together. I knew these characters would be perfect for the comic idea I had and then the format and stories started to come to me.
I hope you've enjoyed this insight to the characters. Keep checking back for more character inspirations.

Hey everyone/ Character Inspiration

So I have some exciting news, today I got featured on the Fiberguys Profiles. This is so cool so please do check it out if you get a chance.

Also since I'm posting I thought I'd give you a little peak at how some characters got their start. Today I will talk about Pepper Keibu.

Pepper Keibu is named after the song ペッパー警部 (Peppā Keibu). Which means Inspector Pepper in Japanese. Pink Lady is my favorite group they were the number one selling female group in the world in the 70s. Pepper Keibu was their first hit song. The went on to have nine #1 hits in a row. So the character of Pepper Keibu kept coming to me years ago but once I had Skein n' Bones going it seemed to be the perfect time. So I know he has only been seen once so far but believe me we haven't heard the last of Pepper Keibu. Here is a link to the video they did in 2004. The put out a DVD of all their hit songs with the dances. The dances are what really made Pink Lady famous, every song had a dance and the would dance in unison like nothing Japan had ever seen. SO this video was done when they were 46 and 47 and they still look amazing .
